It takes courage to support recovery. Bring your heart to a role where it truly matters.
At Richmind WA, we’re on a mission to transform the mental health and wellbeing landscape in Western Australia—and we’re looking for people who are just as passionate about that vision.
Right now, we’re seeking a Mental Health Recovery Practitioner to join our team in Orelia. You’ll play a vital role in supporting people experiencing mental distress to build the life they want, working alongside them in a way that’s person-led, compassionate, and recovery-focused.
Why this role matters
This is more than just a job—it’s a chance to walk alongside people in their recovery journey and make a real impact every day. You’ll form meaningful therapeutic relationships, facilitate group and individual work, and provide recovery-oriented support that reflects the goals, values, and strengths of each person.
You’ll be part of a 24/7 supported community setting (CCU – Community Care Unit), providing intensive transitional support in a trauma-informed, recovery-based environment. We work in partnership with Cyrenian House and South Metro Mental Health to wrap the right care around each individual.
A role where you can:
- Co-create and support personalised recovery plans
- Facilitate peer-driven and staff-led groups
- Advocate for and promote personal agency in people’s mental health journeys
- Collaborate with families, carers, and key supports
- Model hope and belief in the possibility of recovery
- Work as part of a passionate, multidisciplinary team
- Help shape a more inclusive and supportive mental health system
About You
We’re looking for someone who brings warmth, clinical know-how, and a commitment to empowering others. You might have experience in mental health, community services, or a similar space—and you believe in working in ways that are respectful, inclusive, and hopeful.
To thrive in this role, you’ll have:
- A Diploma or Degree in Mental Health or a relevant Human Services field
- Experience in mental health or community-based support
- Skills in therapeutic group facilitation and trauma-informed practice
- A strong team approach and a commitment to recovery principles
- A current National Police Clearance (under 6 months)
- Current First Aid & CPR
- Working with Children Check
- a Driver’s Licence
Bonus points if you have lived experience of recovery (personal or as a carer/supporter)—we deeply value lived wisdom.
Why join Richmind WA?
Because we don’t just support recovery—we live it, breathe it, and build everything we do around it. Our culture is grounded in our values of putting people first, being brave and exploring, living and breathing recovery, and promoting belonging and inclusion.
We also offer:
- Work-life balance in a supportive, person-first environment
- Salary packaging of up to $18,640 (increase your take-home pay!)
- Birthday leave and Wellbeing leave days
- Long service leave after 5 years
- Opportunities to grow – ongoing learning and development, including LinkedIn Learning
- Support to thrive – Employee Assistance Program and core training for all staff
We’re also proudly Rainbow Tick accredited and committed to working alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, valuing all forms of diversity in our workforce.

We’d love to hear from you.
Please submit your resume and a cover letter that tells us:
