At Peter Mac we aim to continuously improve cancer care, research and education across all cancers and for all people affected by cancer: changing lives, breaking new ground. Everything we do is underpinned by our core values, Excellence, Compassion and Innovation. Welcoming people from a wide variety of different backgrounds and experiences is critical to fostering innovation, compassion and excellence, and providing the best possible cancer care for our patients.

About the team

The Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Exercise Physiology department at Peter Mac provides specialised, patient-centred care to support the physical health and recovery of people affected by cancer. Within this department, the Peter Mac Pelvic Dysfunction Service delivers expert pelvic health physiotherapy to patients experiencing cancer-related pelvic floor concerns. The team works collaboratively to enhance function, comfort, and quality of life throughout all stages of treatment and survivorship.

About the role

As a Grade 3 Physiotherapist within the Pelvic Dysfunction Service you will lead and deliver high-quality physiotherapy care, administering safe, specialised pelvic floor physiotherapy treatment for acute and chronic conditions such as incontinence, prolapse, sexual dysfunction, vulval conditions and chronic pelvic pain, related to cancer and cancer treatments.

Key responsibilities will see you:

  • Manage a complex cancer-related caseload using evidence-based treatments (approximately 70% clinical)
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams (including the pain team) to build connections and provide holistic, patient-centred care
  • Contribute to strategic planning and ongoing service development
  • Drive quality improvement initiatives to enhance care delivery
  • Participate in research and apply evidence-based practice to improve patient outcomes

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead innovative physiotherapy services that support people affected by cancer, all within a dynamic, collaborative team and award-winning facilities! The role is every Friday (unfortunately non-negotiable) and alternate Wednesdays (there may be some flexibility here).

About you

You will be someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who is able to build strong, supportive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

You'll bring with you:

  • A tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy and current registration with AHPRA, with a postgraduate qualification in pelvic health (essential)
  • A minimum of 7 years' clinical experience relevant to pelvic health physiotherapy
  • Demonstrated leadership in clinical care, service innovation and research
  • Strong ability to work independently in a specialised clinical area
  • A commitment to innovation, continuous improvement and high standards of care

Our benefits

We offer a range of benefits which support our people both personally and professionally, including:

  • Up to $11,660 in salary packaging to increase your take home pay
  • Discounted health insurance and eye care
  • A comprehensive health and wellbeing program
  • Public transport options at our doorstep and end of trip facilities for cyclists
  • Onsite eateries and coffee shops and inviting rooftop garden spaces
  • Pathways for professional development and new career opportunities
  • Five weeks annual leave (pro-rata) and 17.5% leave loading
