With major operations in Narangba and Geelong and exciting projects on the horizon, we're expanding our team and currently seeking a skilled Estimator to join our Narangba hub.

About the Role

As an Estimator at Hanlon Industries, you’ll play a key role in the early stages of our projects—working closely with our estimating and project teams to prepare accurate tenders, evaluate risks, and secure the best value from subcontractors and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed and competitive estimates and tender submissions

Interpret structural steel documentation, drawings, and project specs

Measure and price tender packages, including take-offs and prelims

Scope work packages and source quotes from subcontractors and suppliers

Conduct cost analysis and risk assessments

Participate in tender reviews and pre-contract negotiations

Collaborate with clients, engineers, and project stakeholders

Maintain and update estimating systems and documentation

Key Requirements

Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field

Proven experience in estimating for structural steel or construction projects

Familiarity with estimating software and on-screen take-off tools (e.g. Bluebeam)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong analytical and negotiation abilities

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specs

Highly organised, proactive, and confident working both independently and in a team
