Contribute to the preservation of Brisbane’s urban ecosystems—apply your skills in a meaningful way as a Wildlife Field Operative

About the Role

Ecosure is seeking a passionate and dedicated Wildlife Field Operative to join our environmental services team. In this hands-on role, you will contribute to the active and humane management of Australian White Ibis populations across Brisbane and surrounding areas.

This position involves a mix of fieldwork (including rostered day, night, and weekend shifts), data collection, and the implementation of ethical wildlife management strategies. You will play a vital role in maintaining ecological balance in urban environments, helping to support both biodiversity and community wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct regular field surveys to monitor ibis activity, nesting sites, and roosting patterns.

Apply humane and effective management techniques in public spaces such as parks, landfills, and city centres.

Accurately collect and record data using various digital platforms.

Engage with local councils, land managers, and the public to provide education and advice.

Work both independently and collaboratively within a supportive team environment.

About you

Experience in wildlife management, particularly with birds in urban settings.

Comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions, including heat, rain, and challenging environments like landfills.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work autonomously.

A genuine passion for Australian native fauna and a commitment to animal welfare.

Current driver’s licence, the right to work in Australia, and a respectful driving attitude.

Proficient in data collection and reporting.

Why join Ecosure

At Ecosure, we are committed to making a positive impact on the environment through science-based, ethical practices. You’ll be part of a passionate team working on meaningful projects that contribute to sustainable urban ecosystems.

Ready to make a difference

If you're enthusiastic about wildlife conservation and want to be part of a team that values integrity, innovation, and impact—apply now to join Ecosure as a Wildlife Field Operative. Help us shape a more balanced and biodiverse future for Brisbane and beyond.
