About the role

This prestigious global professional services firm, is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join their team on a contract basis. Based in Sydney, this role will be responsible for managing all aspects of the accounts payable function. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated individual to contribute to the success of a leading organisation. This client is looking to get the successful applicant asap so if you're available immediately or coming to the end of a contract it would be ideal.

What you'll be doing

Process and manage vendor invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payments using Workday.

Maintain comprehensive records and documentation for all accounts payable transactions

Reconcile accounts payable ledgers and statements

Liaise with internal stakeholders and external vendors to resolve any discrepancies or queries

Assist with the preparation of financial reports and provide support to the accounting team as needed

Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounts payable processes and procedures

What we're looking for

Proven experience as a high volume (500 per week) Accounts Payable Officer or similar role, preferably in a global organisation

Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical skills

Proficient in using accounting software and ERP systems - Workday highly regarded.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Familiarity with accounts payable best practices and relevant regulations
