To continue to deliver for our community, we are seeking a motivated and customer focussed individual with property valuation experience to join our team.
This role will provide you the opportunity to:
Maintain property valuation data in Council’s property and rates system.
Plan short and long term work programs.
Maintain Council’s property and rates system in order to ensure the accurate and timely levying Council rates and charges and State Government charges and levies collected by Council.
Process requests for archive rating data.
Provision of the monthly new dwelling report to the Victorian Electoral Commission.
Investigate and resolve ratepayer enquiries and complaints relating to Council rates and State Government charges and levies collected by Council.
Our ideal candidate will have:
Relevant Degree or Diploma with some experience; or lesser formal qualification with demonstrated experience in reading and interpreting plans of subdivisions, or equivalent; working with property and valuation management systems.
Technical expertise in the administration of property valuations with a demonstrated understanding of property valuation processes such as supplementary valuations, building valuations, notices of acquisition and disposition and land information certificates.
Demonstrated ability to undertake duties with an emphasis on attention to detail to ensure accurate data is maintained in Council’s property database.
Ability to prioritise and manage workloads to meet required deadlines.
Proven ability to work co-operatively in a team environment and to build and maintain effective working relationships.
Highly developed verbal and written skills and the ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of internal and external customers and present information to management.
Understanding of property transactions, subdivision and building permit processes.
Demonstrated skills in processing property and rates system transactions such as, daily payments, rate refunds, adjustments and write-offs, and pension concessions.
Well-developed computer literacy and keyboard skills, including experience in using Synergy Rating and Microsoft Software packages.
