Herrenknecht is a world-leading supplier of mechanized tunnelling machines and associated equipment for all round tunnelling solutions. Herrenknecht Australia, a subsidiary of the global organisation, comprises a small team offering site support to active local tunnelling projects before, during and after TBM excavation. In house engineering capabilities allow us to work with tunnelling contractors to find solutions to unique and challenging problems related to tunnel construction.

We are currently seeking Mechanical Fitters to join us on NSW based project based in Cooma Workshop on a roster basis. These roles will be on a temporary basis for present with potential for ongoing future projects in Australia.

Key duties include (but not limited to) :

Planned assembly maintenance, repairs and servicing on tunneling equipment;

Trouble shooting of plant deficiencies, completing adjustments and alignments by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling and replacing components or parts as required;

Ensure scheduled maintenance, repairs and inspections are completed within required deadlines;

Requisition parts as required for repairs and servicing

Qualifications, skills & experience required:

A minimum of 3 years post-trade experience working on plant and large machinery;

Heavy vehicle / heavy machinery mechanical trade qualification or equivalent;

Demonstrated experience in fixed or mobile plant maintenance environment;

Experience in working to deadlines with adaptability to changing priorities;

Experience in tunneling or mining associated equipment (Preferred but not essential)

An eye for detail and excellent diagnostic and repair skills.

C- Driver License Essential

Construction Card (White Card – Essential)

High risk work licence / training (Forklift). (essential)

HR-HC Driver licence (desirable but not essential)

Hydraulics experience (desirable but not essential)
