Where you'll be working
Suicide Prevention Outreach Team (SPOT), located at Community Mental Health, Sutherland Mental Health Service based on The Sutherland Hospital campus, Caringbah and SESLHD MHS locations.

Selection criteria:
- Social Work OR Occupational Therapy qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award; or qualifications in psychology with a minimum four year degree with a major in psychology and registration with the Psychologists Board of Australia; or current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with at least five years full time equivalent post registration clinical experience and post graduate qualifications relevant to area of specialty or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the employer and registration with AHPRA
- Demonstrated extensive clinical experience working in suicide and mental health interventions with people with an acute mental illness; including understanding and knowledge of mental health principles of consumer focused, recovery oriented and strengths-based practices in community health setting
- Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to proactively engage with patients/clients and staff.
- Lived experience of suicidal thoughts or attempts, caring for someone who is or has been suicidal, or bereaved by suicide; with a strong personal commitment to SESLHD's goal of reducing suicides in the community.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes.
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to apply advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a novel, complex or critical nature
- Demonstrated computer skills and the capacity to use health information systems.
- Current NSW Driver's Licence with a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position.
