Your contribution:
• Lead and manage the EEM staff, establishing and communicating priorities and allocating resources to meet workload demands and deadlines, and including performance and development.
• Demonstrate a project management approach to the preparations for and conduct of electoral events, including by-elections that will be required for vacancies that occur in local government or in the Legislative Assembly, supported by subject matter experts.
• Lead and contribute to approved business improvement initiatives and innovations and review previous electoral events to identify areas for improvement. You will lead your team to follow change management principles when implementing new initiatives.
• Contribute to the financial management and strategic and operational planning for the business unit and take a risk management approach to decision making.
• Assist with the development and implementation of internal policies and procedures and interpret and apply legislation to those artefacts and to your teams' activities.
• Proactively engage with ICT systems development and maintenance required for electoral event management, including the coordination of user acceptance testing across your team.
• Maintain positive working relationships with external stakeholders and where appropriate act as ECQ liaison officer with relevant government bodies.
• Coordinate with the Procurement and Contracts team, you will be a Contract Manager which includes meeting regularly with vendors to identify risks and maintain positive, professional relationships, and if required, take part in or lead procurement activities.
• Promote a collaborative approach to your work across all areas of the Commission's operations, communicating effectively to ensure there is a shared understanding of successful outcomes.
• Utilise your professional oral and written communications skills to liaise with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to team cohesiveness, wellbeing and capability through participation in establishing a positive environment, respectful of the views of others across the Election Event Management unit and broader ECQ workforce.
• Consistently display the ECQ and Queensland Government values, ensuring that these are upheld at all levels of the organisation.
