About the role

FNQ Engineering Surveying is seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Surveyor to join our team on a contract basis. Based in Cairns, QLD, this role will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and high-level technical expertise to support the successful delivery of complex construction projects across Far North Queensland.

What you'll be doing

Undertaking detailed site surveys, mapping, and modelling to support the planning and design of large-scale infrastructure projects

Providing expert surveying advice and support to project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders

Preparing detailed survey reports, drawings, and other technical documentation

Liaising with clients, regulatory authorities, and other external stakeholders to coordinate survey activities

Continuously improving survey processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy

What we're looking for

Tertiary qualification in surveying

5+ years of relevant experience as an Engineering Surveyor, ideally in a construction or infrastructure setting

Strong technical expertise in the use of surveying equipment and software, including GPS, total stations, and 3D modelling

Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Knowledge of relevant surveying standards, regulations, and best practices
