QA Manager

Based at our office in Altona, we currently have an exciting and challenging opportunity for a QA Manager to join our innovative team at Prolife Foods. We work with a range of products from nuts, dried fruits, confectionaries and even pet treats.

Reporting to the Operations Manager you will be responsible for coordinating and maintaining quality systems, pre-requisite program, compliance requirements on site. You will continually monitor quality initiatives ensuring food safety fundamentals comply with required regulatory and customer specific standards.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

· Investigate quality incidents, from both internal and external customers.

· Responsible for conducting quality and product assessment of inwards goods and finished product.

· Manage and action any internal non-conformances and supplier corrective action requests.

· Manage and update the QA department manual as and when necessary.

· Responsible for coordinating compliance activity relating to food safety, quality and regulatory requirements on a day to day basis.

· Liaising with internal and external stake holders to ensure food safety and quality of product is not compromised.

· Providing continuous improvement opportunities and quality support for internal and external customers.

· Management of the internal audit program and coordinating the external audits and auditor requirements across all departments.

· Management of Quality department KPI.

Skills and Experience:

· Strong knowledge of HACCP systems, SQF standard, customer specific requirements (CFMSR) and FSANZ regulatory requirements.

· Knowledge on Biosecurity requirements for import and export of snack food.

· Internal auditing experience on Quality management systems.

· Relevant tertiary qualification and minimum 3 years experience in Quality Assurance role is required. Industry experience in snack food arena is desirable but not essential.

· Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

· Experienced in continuous improvement projects, including tools, investigations and data analysis.

· Experience and commitment in working as part of a team as well as individually.

· Proactive, committed to achieving challenging objectives, forward thinking and success driven

· Good interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with a cross section of people in a variety of situations

· Uses own initiative and is proactive with the ability to work unsupervised.

· High level of efficiency, organization and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines

· Possess attention to detail and is solution focused.
