Accountant & Bookkeeper (Full-Time) – JD Lighting, Browns Plains QLD

About the Role

Join the growing team at JD Lighting as our in-house Accountant and Bookkeeper. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Browns Plains, South-East Queensland. In this dual-role, you will manage the end-to-end bookkeeping process while also handling key accounting functions to ensure our financial operations run smoothly and compliantly.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records across all business transactions

Process accounts payable and receivable with efficiency and precision

Prepare and process payroll while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation

Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts

Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports

Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders including auditors, the ATO, and other regulatory bodies

Provide administrative and financial support to senior management as required

What We're Looking For

Proven experience in a similar combined accounting and bookkeeping role, preferably in a small business or practice setting

Sound understanding of Australian accounting standards, BAS preparation, and compliance obligations

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero or NetSuite preferred)

Strong attention to detail, with solid analytical and problem-solving abilities

Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

A relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or related discipline; CPA/CA certification is a plus
