About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and flexible Kitchen Hand to join our team on a casual basis. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, supporting meal preparation, and ensuring that residents receive high-quality dining experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
In this diverse role, your responsibilities will include:
Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in kitchen and dining areas.
Washing, organizing, and storing crockery, cutlery, and trays.
Assisting with food preparation, including breakfast menu setup.
Labelling and rotating stock to ensure compliance with Food Safety standards.
Collaborating with the kitchen supervisor, cook, and staff to ensure smooth operations.
Adhering to infection control and Work Health and Safety (WHS) protocols.
Contributing to person-centered care and creating a positive dining experience for residents.
What We're Looking For:
We’re looking for someone who has:
Experience in a food preparation area, ideally in a facility, hospital, or commercial kitchen.
A Food Handling Certificate.
A cooperative personality with flexibility and a team-focused approach.
Strong communication skills in English for effective interactions with staff, residents, and visitors.
Patience, empathy, and understanding of the unique needs of aged individuals.
Familiarity with policy manuals, WHS, and infection control standards.
Current police check (or willingness to obtain one).
Experience in a coffee shop or as a barista (desirable).
