About the role

The NSWPF is seeking a visionary and technically adept Computer Systems Officer 4 to support the development and end-to-end life-cycle of the newly established Vision enterprise platform - a critical capability enabling secure, real-time vision integration to enhance front-line situational awareness and response. As the strategic officer of this platform, you will provide decisive technical leadership across technology, operations, and governance. Your mandate will be to ensure seamless integration, high availability, and robust data security.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, leveraging expertise in video management systems, data networks, and cloud or hybrid architectures. Your strong stakeholder engagement skills will foster effective communication and teamwork, ensuring platform capabilities align with policing priorities. By working together, you will ensure compliance and deliver measurable impact on front-line effectiveness. this unique opportunity is ideal for an individual who thrives in complex environments and is passionate about leveraging cutting-edge technology to enhance public safety and operational capability.

This role will be 5 days per week and candidates must have flexibility to adjust their working days to suit operational requirements.

Target Question 1:

Can you describe your experience in designing or supporting a vision capability that integrated CCTV, mobile video assets, and third-party video feeds? In your response, please explain how you addressed technical challenges - such as streaming reliability, data security, and system interoperability - while ensuring the solution met the operational needs of your agency and involved stakeholders.

Target Question 2:

Can you provide an example of how you have designed or supported network infrastructure for vision systems using IP-based or cloud-enabled technologies? In your response, please highlight how you've incorporated innovative or emerging technologies (e.g. edge computing, video analytics, 5G or SD-WAN) to improve performance, scalability, or efficiencies.
