The opportunity
The Manager Workplace Technology Services is responsible for the delivery of End User Computing (EUC) to the SRO. The role also covers Windows support and projects, and most things Microsoft. This includes project work and maintaining currency. The teams reporting to the role provide day to day support as well as well-established IT initiatives based on a 5-year work plan.
Reporting to the Manager Service Operations, you will be responsible for:
- Supporting the day-to-day needs of a base of around 1200 staff, their laptops, and a range of Windows servers.
- Leading and driving the implementation of BTS initiatives within the BTS Programme of Works to agreed levels of delivery, scope, product quality, cost, and timing.
- Working closely with colleagues and peers in delivering WTS outcomes and assisting others in reaching their goals.
Supporting other teams on delivering projects and maintaining currency.
Who we are looking for
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Extensive experience in managing enterprise-scale Microsoft-based IT infrastructure, including Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Intune, SCCM, and VMware virtualisation platforms, with demonstrated leadership of senior technical staff.
- Proven capability in overseeing end-to-end service delivery operations, including device lifecycle management (e.g. laptop refresh programs), vendor engagement, and contract management for platforms such as Veeam, AvePoint, and HP device fleets.
- Demonstrated experience in cloud service integration and support planning, including Microsoft 365 backup strategies, hybrid identity management, and operational readiness for cloud-based infrastructure.

Our role
We are the Victorian Government's major tax collection agency, a semi-autonomous service agency which acts under a framework agreement between the Victorian Treasurer, the Secretary of the Department of Treasury and Finance and the Commissioner of State Revenue.
Our role is to administer Victoria's taxation legislation and collects a range of taxes, duties and levies. In 2013-14, we collected in excess of $13 billion in revenue for the Victorian Government.
We also administer the First Home Owner Grant (FHOG), unclaimed money (since October 2004), the growth areas infrastructure contribution (GAIC) and several subsidies and exemptions.
Where we are
We have offices in Melbourne and Ballarat. Each facility has about 230 staff.
The Melbourne office deals with policy and technical issues, as well as administering document-based duties. The Ballarat office is the main processing and call centre for the taxes and duties that we administer.
