About This Opportunity
Join the Academic Services Division's Business Enhancement team as a Senior Administration Officer to drive significant improvements in student administration. This role primarily focuses on digitising, automating, and optimising processes within UQ's student function, contributing to enhancements in the Oracle PeopleSoft Student System, Business Process Digitisation program, and Robotics Process Automation tools. Reporting to the Coordinator, Business Enhancement, you'll be instrumental in delivering exceptional student experiences and processing efficiencies across the University.
Key responsibilities will include:
Process Analysis & Enhancement
- Work with stakeholders to analyse existing business procedures, aiming to establish enhanced processes and project requirements.
Quality Assurance & Business Readiness
- Lead the development of acceptance criteria and user acceptance testing, effectively describing and progressing resolutions for bugs. This also involves facilitating business readiness activities, including drafting training materials and managing stakeholder communication.
Stakeholder Relations & Operational Support
- Develop strong working relationships with business and technical teams across the university, providing production support to staff while enabling self-help. This includes contributing to the ongoing monitoring of policy and procedural compliance.
Reporting & Compliance for Improvement
- Monitor and report on the usage and uptake of digitised processes and policy compliance. This role identifies policy shortfalls, contributes to the design of reporting for digitised processes, and helps develop a reporting framework to support evidence-based decision-making.
About You
Essential
- Relevant degree/qualifications with subsequent experience.
- Well-developed skills and knowledge in the use of current technologies.
- Demonstrate a high degree of professional judgement, with the ability to analyse risks and multifunctional impacts to make workable recommendations. Possess strong problem-solving skills and analytical expertise to identify and propose effective solutions.
- Possess (or the ability to rapidly acquire) a thorough knowledge of the University's structure, policies, and procedures. Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to communicate with clarity and precision.
- Highly developed organisational and planning skills, with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail. Display highly effective interpersonal and negotiation skills to manage stakeholder expectations, build productive working relationships, and deliver outstanding service.
Desirable
- Experience in student administration in a higher education institution or similar environment.
You must maintain unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment, and may be required to complete background checks including, criminal history and education checks. Employer sponsored work rights are not available for this appointment.
