About the Role

Gardner Construction is looking for a skilled, motivated Residential Carpenter to join our growing team. Based mainly in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, you’ll work on quality renovations and extensions, alongside a crew that genuinely enjoys working with—and for—each other.

This is a full-time, on-the-tools role with clear progression for the right person, including opportunities to step into site leadership. What You’ll Be Doing

Carpentry across residential renovations and extensions

Framing, fix-outs, cladding, stair installs, doors, windows, skirtings, architraves — end-to-end carpentry work

Following site plans and collaborating with other trades to deliver high-quality work

Reporting to site managers and helping drive projects forward

For the right person: stepping into site management support roles over time

Day-to-Day

Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (overtime and Saturday work available)

Based on-site with the same team daily — we run consistent crews, not revolving doors

Steady rhythm: focus on one job at a time with a structured approach to progress

Who We’re Looking For

Cert III in Carpentry (essential)

At least 1 year of post-apprenticeship experience in residential construction

Able to read and interpret plans with confidence

Proficient in using hand and power tools

Great communicator, team player, and someone who takes pride in the work

Ambitious and driven to grow within the company

Comfortable working under a site manager, with the potential to lead crews in the future

Red Flags

Limited hands-on experience in residential construction

No tools or not equipped to hit the ground running

Qualifications & Requirements

Trade Qualification Cert III in Carpentry- REQUIRED

Minimum of 1 year of building and construction experience post apprenticeship

Cert IV in building would be viewed favorably for this role

Current trade license in carpentry is preferred

NSW Drivers Licence

Full tool kit
