CARPENTER

Metrik Group is a Sydney-based construction company which services the domestic and commercial construction sectors. We work as principal contractors for developers on both new builds and renovations, project managing all elements of the construction contract.

We are now seeking a trade qualified CARPENTER to join us on a full time employed basis.

Responsibilities will include:

Constructing, erecting, installing, renovating and repairing structures according to architectural and structural drawings

Applying working knowledge of various materials and their usage to ensure structures are weatherproof, insulated and compliant

Managing construction projects efficiently through application of systems and use of industry software

Tasks will include

Read architectural and structural drawings, interpreting specifications to understand measurements, load-bearing requirements, and material specifications

Estimate and quantify materials such as timber, nails, screws, cement, insulation, and other construction materials

Mark out the positions of walls, both internal and external.

Construct structural walls, roof structures, and installation of beams
by cutting, measuring, nailing, and assembling structural elements.

Install doors, architraves, skirtings, and other trim details.

Install external cladding materials, such as timber, fibre cement or metal, ensuring that buildings are weatherproof, insulated, and visually pleasing

The successful candidate will have:

· Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent experience (minimum three years)

· Minimum three years’ experience within construction sector

· Minimum one year’s experience as tradesperson

· Experience in both new builds and renovations

· Ability to safely use a range of power tools including wet saw, circular saws, jigsaws, drills, sanders, nail guns, drills

· Ability to use specialized carpentry tools such as mitre saws, routers, and coping saws for more intricate carpentry tasks like joinery, framing, and finishing

· Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings accurately

· Ability to work independently

· Ability to competently use Buildertrend software

· Excellent written and oral communication skills

We are offering a salary of $84,000 + super for a 38-hour week.
