Empower People Through Movement, Connection & Care

At Vector Health & Performance, we help people of all ages live stronger, healthier, and more fulfilling lives—every day. Our Allied Health Assistants are a vital part of our team, supporting physiotherapists, exercise physiologists, and strength & conditioning coaches to deliver high-quality care across Rockhampton, Yeppoon, Biloela, and regional outreach communities.

We’re currently inviting applications from individuals at various stages of their professional development—whether you:

• Have recently completed, or are in the process of completing, your Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance or a similar qualification,

• Are studying in a university program such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, exercise and sports science, or medicine, and are looking to gain hands-on experience in a clinical environment.

Whether you’re just beginning your journey and keen to learn, or you’re ready to take on greater responsibility in therapy support and client care, we offer roles that will support your development while contributing to meaningful outcomes for our clients.

This is a unique opportunity to work across a diverse range of clinical settings and populations—including seniors, youth athletes, individuals with disability (NDIS), and those recovering from injury—while being part of a welcoming, multidisciplinary team.

Additional paid opportunities are also available for those interested in working as a First Aid Officer, Sports Trainer, or providing strapping and taping support at local sporting carnivals and events. These roles are ideal for those wanting to expand their skills and contribute to community sport through hands-on injury prevention and care, and may include match day attendance, pre-game preparation, and on-field support.

In this role, you will:
• Work under the supervision of qualified allied health professionals
• Assist with individual and group therapy programs, both in-clinic and community-based
• Support the safe delivery of exercise prescription, rehabilitation, and mobility-based interventions
• Prepare and maintain clinical and gym environments, ensuring equipment is cleaned and set up to a high standard
• Assist with administration such as appointment reminders, stock checks, client documentation, and resource preparation
• Communicate professionally with clients, families, and other team members to contribute to a welcoming, respectful environment

For students studying physiotherapy, occupational therapy, exercise and sports science, or medicine, this role offers a valuable opportunity to consolidate academic knowledge through practical exposure. You will develop your understanding of:

• Program design and exercise progression for varied clinical populations
• Client communication and behaviour change strategies
• Working within interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Real-world clinical workflow, documentation systems, and patient support processes

We are committed to providing a structured environment for learning and professional growth, including:

• Opportunities for in-service training, observation of senior clinicians, and guided reflection
• Exposure to clinical reasoning and rehabilitation planning in real-world settings
• Mentorship tailored to your background, goals, and level of experience

Applicants with Sports Trainer Level 1 and First Aid/CPR certifications will also be considered for additional paid roles at sporting events, including:
• On-field Sports Trainer support (e.g., injury response, recovery strategies)
• Strapping and taping athletes before games and between matches
• Match-day First Aid Officer roles in community sport settings

Your classification will be aligned to Level 2 or Level 3 under the Health Professionals and Support Services Award 2020, depending on your qualifications, experience, and level of autonomy.
