About the role
We are seeking 2 x dedicated and motivated Practice Nurses to join our thriving Dermatology clinic in Malvern East.

Position 1:
Initially 2 days per week – Tuesday and Wednesday – with an increase to 3 days (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) starting mid-September.

Position 2:
Commencing at 1 day per week (Thursday), increasing to 2 days per week (Tuesday and Thursday) from August.

As a part-time Practice Nurse, you will play a vital role in supporting our team of dermatologists and other clinical staff, delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall success of our practice.

There may be times when you will be required to cover the clinic at our other location in Pakenham.

What you'll be doing

Providing assistance during surgical procedures, including biopsies and excisions

Delivering expert wound care and management

Overseeing stock management, including ordering and maintaining inventory of medical supplies

Preparing patients for consultations with the dermatologist

Conducting post-procedure follow up with patients

Coordinating patient flow in the waiting room

Offering patient support, providing education and answering questions related to dermatological treatments

Triaging new patient referrals

Preparing of injectable treatments, adhering to safety and clinical guidelines

Sterilising of clinical equipment, maintaining strict infection control standards

Assisting with the coordination and delivery of patient education and health promotion programs

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records and ensuring compliance with medical documentation standards

Participating in staff meetings, training, and professional development activities to continuously improve your skills and knowledge

What we're looking for

Registered Div 1 Nurse with experience in a general medical or surgical nursing setting

Strong clinical skills and ability to work independently and part of a team

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare providers

Proficient in the use of electronic medical records and other healthcare technology

Commitment to ongoing professional development and a desire to continuously improve your skills and knowledge
