Great opportunity for anyone willing to begin their journey in one of the most exciting areas of the healthcare sector (Cardiology specialist medical practice, Pulse Cardiac Care). A rapidly expanding cardiology practice in the heart of the city of Townsville with enormous potential for future growth. The practice is known for delivering high-quality services, with shorter waiting times, in a reliable and efficient manner. It has gained a good reputation over the years and thrives on patient-centred, compassionate care.

Duties would include, but are not limited to, general medical reception and administrative duties, including making appointments, billing, preparing paperwork for procedures, and liaising with GPs and other specialty doctors.

Experience or willingness to learn to handle cardiology equipment like HOLTER's and Ambulatory BP monitoring devices is very much appreciated.

Training opportunities will be provided to enable individuals to integrate into the system, playing a crucial role in the practice's long-term functioning. Initially, the candidate will be recruited as a part-time casual employee. Consideration will be given to transitioning to a permanent employee, depending on the candidate's performance and commitment to the organisation.

Role Responsibilities:

Coordinate patient bookings and appointments.

Updating and maintaining the database of patients' and doctors' information, ensuring confidentiality.

Answering incoming calls, responding to phone messages left after hours and actioning emails promptly.

Provide support and assistance for patients by checking vital parameters (BP, BMI), including ECG’s.

Correcting/editing medical letters/reports before dispatching them to their intended destinations.

Inpatient and outpatient billing.

Booking, coordinating and organising procedures in liaison with the Mater Hospital administrative staff.

General office maintenance and housekeeping.

Skills and Experience:

Previous receptionist experience in medical practice, either GP or Specialist, is desirable but not mandatory

Impeccable communication skills (verbal and written) and, in general, have a courteous and welcoming attitude.

Sound working knowledge of computers, business phones, fax machines, Outlook, and medical practice software.

The right attitude to learn, adapt and progress. Being always punctual, dependable and reliable. Work with dedication and responsibility.

To be a team player and have the ability to gel with existing staff.
