About the role

We are looking for a Pool Lifeguard to join the team on a permanent part-time basis (35 hours per fortnight) to supervise and oversee customers within the aquatic centre at the Swan Active leisure facility in Ballajura. This role focuses on ensuring that customer visits are both safe and enjoyable. It requires individuals who can respond promptly in emergencies and provide water rescues and first aid when required.

Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to;

  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment for all facility users by ensuring patron behaviour aligns with pool rules and regulations, and by taking appropriate action to address any disruptive or difficult individuals as necessary.
  • Undertake necessary training and maintain required qualifications.
  • Provide diligent supervision of aquatic areas and provide first aid treatment as appropriate.
  • Assist in the organisation of daily operations of the Centre including programming and equipment set up and pack down.
  • Carry out routine checks and report required maintenance throughout the facility to ensure all equipment is always fully operational and in safe working condition.

About you

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Current Pool Lifeguard Award
  • Current resuscitation certification (CPR)
  • Current first aid certificate
  • Pool Managers Certificate & LIWA Accreditation will be highly regarded
  • A satisfactory National Police Certificate is required
  • Ability to work early mornings, late evenings and weekends

The salary for this position will be from $59,181.80 to $63,713.35 per annum pro rata, depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
