About the role
You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with a driven and passionate team focussed on implementing sustainable tree management services. Responsibilities include facilitating Council's annual street tree replenishment planting, reviewing applications for pruning or removal of trees located on private property, assisting the Senior Tree Officer in providing advice for development applications, and providing technical expertise to assist in undertaking regular and programmed inspections, investigating compliance and responding to community queries on tree related matters.
About you
The successful candidate will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Arboriculture, (AQF5 Diploma or equivalent);
- Previous employment in Horticulture with demonstrated experience in Arboriculture;
- Sound knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, in particular, Pruning of Amenity Trees and protection of Trees on Development Sites;
- Demonstrated comprehensive understanding and experience in tree hazard and health assessment;
- Current C Class Driver's Licence; and
- Experience in or an understanding of, managing private tree applications under planning controls (Vegetation SEPP, LEP, DCP) would also be an advantage but is not essential.

Salary range:
Up to $97K per annum including superannuation, (dependent on the skills, qualifications and relevant experience of the suitable candidate).
