The Opportunity

We’re seeking an Experienced Surveyor to join our 3D scanning team full time in this newly created and exciting role. This position offers variety, autonomy, and the opportunity to work on innovative surveying projects in the design and construction space. You’ll have the option to rotate across service lines every three to six months, allowing you to expand your skills and experience while delivering high-standard surveying services. Or if you love this line of work you can stay in it full time & own it.

Your primary focus will be leading and executing contour and detail surveys using cutting-edge technology. This isn’t detail surveying as you know it today! We’ve developed an entirely innovative and expansive workflow, with a significant pipeline of work ahead. You are joining the team developing the future of surveying, today!

This role is designed to empower the right candidate to excel in this new service delivery while gaining exposure to a broad range of construction, engineering, and design survey projects if you want variety. You’ll collaborate with our team to deliver high-quality project outcomes and apply the latest technology in the most cutting-edge ways.

What You’ll Be Doing

Performing precise fieldwork for contour, detail, and design surveys using best-in-class technology.

Contributing to the evolution of this service line and delivering exceptional surveys to our valued clients.

Working with new datasets and survey outputs that set a new standard for survey deliverables.

Uploading, downloading, and managing survey data.

Carrying out best-practice resections and traversing, as well as establishing traditional survey control.

Picking up property data for contour & detail surveys and ASCON surveys.

Rotating through teams to work on construction, engineering, and design projects within our broader survey offerings (if you want to).

Reducing and processing survey data, adhering to Sonto’s proven QA standards.

Escalating non-conformances or corrective actions when necessary.

Communicating effectively with clients and the Sonto team.

Your Workload Will Include

Contour and detail surveys

3D scanning projects

Drone capture (future workloads with training provided)

ASCON surveys

ADAC surveys (optional)

Structural building setouts (residential, commercial, and industrial) (optional)

Civil and engineering surveys (optional)

This role suits someone with strong attention to detail, a passion for innovation, and the ability to work autonomously while collaborating with field crews, draftspersons, and senior surveyors as needed. What We’re Looking For

Minimum of 3 years of experience in surveying, with experience in detail surveys and setting survey control.

Proficiency in modern surveying equipment and software, including field data reduction.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

A valid driver’s license and a general construction induction card.

A team player with a positive attitude.
