About This Opportunity

The RTO Student Services Officer provides administrative support for student services activities and functions, assisting both staff and students at UQ Skills (a Registered Training Organisation).

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide high-quality client service to UQ Skills students, staff, and clients, addressing queries and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • First point of contact to students, provide course advice on programs and pathways.
  • Administrative functions for the whole student lifecycle; including admissions, resulting, support progression, communication, completions.
  • Collaborating with various teams to ensure seamless program delivery.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of processes and procedures.
  • Strong computer skills, use of Microsoft Office and Student Management Systems highly regarded. UQ Skills utilises aXcelerate.
  • Support the Student Services Manager with financial reports, HR forms, student enrolment processes, and other administrative tasks.
  • Provide secretarial support, including agendas and minutes, and act as a backup to other UQ Skills Student Services team members.

About You

  • Completion of a diploma or Certificate IV with relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and the ability to use systems like UniFi, and aXcelerate, or the capacity to quickly acquire this knowledge.
  • Strong understanding of UQ Skills policies on student administration and ASQA standards for quality in learning, assessment, and material mapping, or the ability to learn these rapidly.
  • Proven ability to manage administrative tasks, including reviewing and updating work practices and procedures to improve efficiency.
  • High-level written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse groups and foster cooperative relationships.
  • Exceptional ability to prioritize competing demands, meet deadlines under pressure, and maintain confidentiality, with a strong focus on delivering accurate, detail-oriented, and well-presented work.
