About the role
As a Tree Compliance Officer, you will:
Help achieve the best outcomes in tree management to protect and enhance Willoughby’s urban forest.
Support the health and quality of the city’s trees, maximising their environmental, social, and economic value to the community.
Conduct site inspections, investigations, and enforcement actions related to tree removal, pruning, or damage.
Ensure compliance with tree-related conditions of development consent on both private and Council-owned land.
Collaborate with internal teams to support regulatory and environmental programs
What You’ll Bring
Relevant tertiary qualifications or extensive related experience.
Current NSW Class C Drivers Licence.
Demonstrated experience in undertaking investigations and evidence gathering.
Ability to interpret and apply NSW tree and vegetation legislation.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and reliable reports
Effective conflict resolution, customer service, and mediation abilities
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
