Role: Building Caretaker - Permanent Residential Complex

About the role:

Due to ongoing expansion, we are seeking an experienced Building Caretaker to join our team at a premium permanent residential building in Melbourne.

This full-time role is suited to a hands-on individual with experience in residential or facilities caretaking. You'll be responsible for ensuring the building's common property is well-presented, clean, safe, and compliant. While supported by a broader management team, you'll take the lead onsite in day-to-day caretaking and coordinate with our contractors and support staff where necessary.

This development requires a self-motivated, high-level communicator with a keen eye for detail.You will need to possess excellent organization and time management skills to ensure the highest standards are delivered to the clients and their asset.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be required to:

· Be highly organized with strong attention to detail

· Ensure all records concerning the building are kept and are up to date

· Perform daily cleaning and presentation duties (lobbies, rooftop, pool, carpark, lifts, amenities)

· Manage or conduct basic maintenance tasks across common areas

· Identify and log asset defects and liaise with contractors (e.g., lift, fire, pest, pool)

· Complete routine WHS and fire safety checks (e.g. doors, lighting, access systems)

· Maintain a tidy and compliant manager's office/room

· Report to and liaise with the Operations Manager

· Undertake administrative duties relating to projects as directed by the Operations Manager

· Build productive relationships with clients and service providers

· Enforcement of OC rules

· Liaise with the OC Manager

To be successful in this role you must:

· Have previous experience in caretaking, facilities, or building maintenance (Highly desirable)

· Have an understanding of WHS and compliance inspections

· Have a passion for customer service

· Excellent personal presentation standards

· Effectively manage multiple stakeholders

· Foster client relationships and encourage a community culture

· Have excellent written and oral communication skills

· Proficient in multiple IT solutions

· Have the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

· Demonstrate a high level of responsiveness

· Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

· Have a proactive attitude

· Physically fit and able to lift up to 20kg (desirable)
