ABOUT THE ROLE:
Mejora Health Care are currently seeking a suitably qualified Junior Occupational Therapist (Mobile) to work with our valued clients, providing functional capacity assessments and subsequent in-home therapy.
The core responsibility of this role will be to provide therapy and rehabilitation services to our clients in the Pakenham, Koo Wee Rup and South Gippsland regions, with responsibilities summarised below:
Responsibilities:
Comprehensive Assessments: Conduct functional capacity evaluations, including activities of daily living (ADLs), cognitive assessments, and environmental assessments.
Therapeutic Interventions: Develop and implement individualized therapy plans focusing on skill development, adaptive strategies, and assistive technology recommendations.
Assistive Technology (AT) Assessments: Evaluate and prescribe appropriate AT solutions to support clients' independence and participation in daily activities.
Capacity Building: Provide education and training to clients, families, and carers to enhance understanding and implementation of therapy plans.
Report Writing: Prepare detailed reports for NDIS planning, HCP reviews, and other relevant documentation.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with other healthcare professionals, support coordinators, and service providers to ensure holistic care delivery.
Community Engagement: Participate in community outreach and education to promote awareness of occupational therapy services.
ABOUT YOU:
To qualify for further consideration, you will need to demonstrate a genuine passion for the industry, a solid, relevant, working history and the below skills and attributes:
Skills & Experience:
A relevant Bachelor's degree or higher qualification.
Registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (or ability to obtain).
Valid National Police Check.
Current Working With Children Check.
Current Drivers’ License and access to a reliable vehicle for daily use.
NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
Experience working with NDIS and HCP clients (desirable).
Proficiency in using Assistive Technology and Equipment (desirable).
Experience in pediatric and geriatric occupational therapy (desirable).
Knowledge of the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits (desirable).
Respectful, caring and empathetic nature.
Ability to work independently and contribute as a valued member of the team.
