The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Supervisor Landscape to join our Parks Maintenance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled professional to step into a leadership role and help shape the quality and presentation of the City’s landscaped areas.
As the Supervisor Landscape, you will work closely with the Coordinator Parks to lead and support a team of Landscape Maintenance Officers and contractors. Your role will be key in ensuring the delivery of high-quality landscape maintenance services across the City’s parks, gardens, and open spaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and supervise day-to-day landscape maintenance operations.
- Provide technical advice and allocate resources, staff, and equipment effectively.
- Monitor the health and condition of landscaped areas and implement maintenance programs.
- Respond to community enquiries and ensure a high standard of customer service.
- Maintain accurate records and assist with budget monitoring and reporting.
- Promote and uphold Work Health and Safety standards across all operations.
About You
You are a confident leader with a strong background in horticulture and landscape maintenance. You enjoy working outdoors, leading teams, and delivering high-quality outcomes for the community. Your communication skills, technical knowledge, and commitment to safety will set you apart.
To be successful, you will have:
- Certificate IV in Horticulture or 5+ years’ experience in landscape operations.
- Demonstrated experience in a supervisory or team leader role.
- Strong knowledge of landscape maintenance practices and scheduling.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- A current ‘C’ class driver’s licence and White Card.
- Can pass a pre-employment medical check
- Additional certifications such as Traffic Management, Chemical Application, and First Aid are highly desirable.

This is a permanent full-time position offering a cash salary of $83,830– $91,223 per annum, plus superannuation.

The City of Nedlands is situated just 7km from Perth and stretches from the banks of the beautiful Swan River to the edge of the Indian Ocean. On 1 July, 1959 the City of Nedlands was proclaimed at the command of Governor Sir Charles Gairdner, in the packed Dalkeith Civic Hall. Mr Allan Jenkins read out the proclamation and the Minister for Local Government, Mr Leslie Logan, M.L.C. conducted the official swearing in ceremony of the new Mayor, John Charles Smith, the twelve new Councillors and the auditors. He then appointed Mr Allan Jenkins as the City's first Town Clerk. Among those present was MLA for Nedlands, Deputy Premier Charles Court.
Significant events and dates that contributed to the development of the City of Nedlands:
1893: The first move to establish Local Government in our area with the creation of the Claremont Road Board on 31 March, 1893, governing a total area of ten square miles; forty years after the death of Adam Armstrong, Nedlands' first resident.
1898: Approximately two square miles excised to form the Municipality of Claremont.
1932: Name changed from Claremont Road Board to Nedlands Road Board.
1956: Name changed from Nedlands Road Board to the Municipality of Nedlands.
1959: One hundred and thirty years after the first British settlement around the Swan River, Nedlands achieved City status. Name changed from Nedlands Road Board to the City of Nedlands while under the guidance of Mayor John Charles Smith Esq., JP Mayor.
