Skilled Trades Assistants – Commercial Fuel Tankers

Are you a motivated Trades Assistant ready to learn and grow? Join a leading Australian-owned manufacturer of large-scale fuel tanks, trailers, and commercial fuel systems based in Sydney’s Western Suburbs. This 26-week placement via TRS Resourcing offers:

What You’ll Do

• Assist with fitting electrical & pump equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and other build processes
• Safely operate power tools under the workshop manager’s guidance
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, prioritising quality, safety, OHS compliance, and autonomous workflow

What You’ll Earn

• $45/hr Normal Time + superannuation
• Overtime opportunities included
• $30 per day travel allowance
• Potential transition to a full-time role after successful completion

Requirements

• Mechanical aptitude & ability to work unsupervised
• Basic knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics is desirable
• Experience off‑siding tradespeople such as Mechanical Fitters or Boilermakers
• References from at least two previous employers
• Based in Sydney and holding full Australian working rights

Career Path & Development

Many previous placements have gone on to apprenticeships, most notably in Diesel Mechanics. A strong candidate with enthusiasm, attention to detail, and proven safety awareness could easily transition into a diesel mechanic apprenticeship upon completing their placement.
