About the Role
As a Mechanical Tradesperson, you’ll be responsible for repairing and maintaining heavy vehicles, mobile plant, and fixed equipment to maximise uptime and performance. Your focus will be on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and quality repairs, ensuring all work is completed safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform repairs, maintenance, and servicing on heavy vehicles, mobile plant, and underground machinery.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical faults efficiently.
• Work within manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and reports.
• Participate in toolbox talks, hazard assessments, and safety initiatives.
• Support apprentices and junior tradespeople in skill development.

What We’re Looking For

Technical Requirements:

• Trade Certificate (Heavy Diesel Fitter, Mobile Plant, or equivalent).
• RII DES training (or willingness to obtain).
• Competent Person (CP) status (or ability to obtain within probation).

About You:

• At least 2 years working with flameproof underground machinery OR 5+ years in heavy industry.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in hydraulics, engines, and mechanical components.
• Ability to produce reports, maintain service records, and execute certification-required tasks.
• A strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Desirable (but not essential):

• Experience in underground diesel equipment maintenance.
• Forklift ticket or dogging ticket.
• Previous experience in workshop-based mechanical fitting.
