The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Lead Carpenter/Forman with an extensive carpentry background to join our growing team. This is a full-time position suited for an individual with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for carpentry. The successful applicant will require extensive experience with timber frame construction and Passivhaus house building principles. You must have the ability to lead a team with enthusiasm and discipline. You will need to be competent in reading plans and have a strong problem-solving ability.

Key Responsibilities

Execute all aspects of residential carpentry this must include the ability to complete a new timber frame home/extension from formwork, framework through to detailed finishing carpentry.

Detailing and executing the project to include but not limited to Passive Haus airtightness and cavity ventilation

Order and install timber flooring (pre-finished, laminated, and natural hardwood)

Carry out new roof installations and perform restoration and repair work

Install a wide range of internal and external doors (glass, wood, steel)

Remove, repair, or install skirting boards with style-matching precision

Construct and install custom decking to client specifications

Read and interpret building plans and specifications

Work collaboratively with other trades and site managers to ensure projects run smoothly

Ensure compliance with building regulations and safety standards

Requirements

Certificate III in Carpentry (or equivalent)

Minimum of 2 years of full-time relevant work experience as a lead carpenter

High proficiency with carpentry tools and materials

Demonstrated ability to complete work to high-quality standards

Physical fitness and ability to work in various weather conditions

Strong communication and teamwork skills

White Card (Construction Induction Card)

Valid driver’s license and reliable transport
