The Team:
Join a dedicated and multidisciplinary team within the Statewide Forensic Mental Health Services, based at the Wilfred Lopes Centre in southern Tasmania. The Role:
As part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high quality mental health services in accordance with the Mental Health Services Strategic Plan, Mental Health Service principles, National Mental Health Standards, Agency Policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies, the Psychologist will:
- Provide specialist psychological assessments, treatment and secondary consultation services for clients of the Wilfred Lopes Centre, utilising evidence-based best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework.
- Act as a consultant to other agencies with regard to the assessment, support and management plans of patients with forensic mental health needs and promote inpatient awareness and education in relation to mental health.
You will need to:
- Deliver evidence-based psychological assessments and treatments within a multidisciplinary team at the Wilfred Lopes Centre, supporting individuals with complex forensic mental health needs.
- Provide expert consultation and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to enhance care planning, risk management, and mental health education across the criminal justice system.
- Contribute to quality improvement and professional development initiatives, including research, training, and the promotion of a safe, rights-based approach to care for vulnerable populations.

Details of appointment:
Fixed term full time, day worker position, with on-call roster as required, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of twelve months.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $110,425 to $121,907 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022.

- Please note that access to salaries beyond $119,290 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
- Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Psychology Board of Australia.
- Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia.
