About the role
As an Employment Consultant, you will support people with disability to secure and maintain meaningful employment by delivering person-centred coaching, overcoming barriers and building inclusive pathways into work. You'll work closely with participants, employers and local services to deliver strengths-based plans, develop job readiness and create placements that stick.
Whether it's helping someone write their first CV, preparing a participant for their first job interview, navigating support services to remove barriers or partnering with a local employer to create a tailored job - every day will be different, and always impactful.
This is a full-time, fixed term role until 31 October 2025. You'll be based in Fitzroy with occasional travel to St Kilda or other Yarra-based sites as needed.
You will be responsible to:
Conduct holistic assessments and co-design employment plans with participants
Provide tailored coaching including pre-employment support and career mentoring
Work with employers and stakeholders to identify suitable job opportunities
Collaborate with team members for ongoing post-placement support
Maintain accurate records and meet compliance and performance requirements
About the team
You'll join a passionate team as part of the Disability Employment Services program at Opendoor, working alongside At Work Support Consultants, Community Engagement Specialists and Employer Relationship Managers. The team is collaborative, purpose-driven and focused on creating positive outcomes for participants.
What you'll receive
In addition to receiving a salary ranging between $64k - $73k + Super, you will have access to:
Up to $18,550 p.a. in salary packaging options to boost your fortnightly take-home pay
3 Wellness Days per year, in addition to your other personal leave
Paid Christmas closure leave
Flexible work options and supportive, values-led leadership
Option to purchase an additional 2 weeks' of leave each year

About you
You're a confident communicator and compassionate listener. You may come from employment services, community services, sales, education, recruitment or a people-focused customer service role - but what matters most is your passion for helping others realise their potential.
You will have:
Strong interpersonal skills with empathy and emotional intelligence
Experience in coaching, mentoring or employment support
Demonstrated ability to meet and or exceed KPIs
The ability to juggle priorities in a structured, compliance-focused environment
Confidence using technology and in administration
A current driver's licence and willingness to travel locally as needed
