The School of Medical, Indigenous and Health Sciences (MIHS) includes disciplines of Nutrition Science and Dietetics; Indigenous Health; Exercise, Sport and Rehabilitation Sciences; and Medial Sciences. The School currently offers programs in Nutrition Science, Pre-Medicine, and Medical and Health Sciences as well as externally accredited programs in Dietetics, Clinical Exercise Physiology and Exercise Science. The School also offers a Graduate Certificate in Indigenous Trauma and Recovery Practice (GC ITRP), and a Master of Indigenous Health.
About the role
We are seeking an experienced academic to contribute to high-quality teaching and research in nutrition science, with a particular focus on nutrition and food science innovation. This role is suited to someone with a strong track record in research, teaching excellence, and engagement with the food industry, particularly in advancing knowledge and practice in food innovation, technology, and sustainability.
As a Senior Lecturer you will contribute to the Nutrition Science Dietetics and Allied Health programs, delivering industry-aligned teaching and play a key role in curriculum development that reflects current and emerging industry needs. You will also be expected to lead a research program in a relevant area of nutrition science, supported by competitive grants or industry funding.
About you
You will demonstrate a strong commitment to the development of the nutrition science profession and hold a PhD in nutrition, nutrition science, food and nutrition innovation, or a closely related field from an accredited university. You will also be a registered Nutritionist with the Nutrition Society of Australia or be eligible for registration. You will bring a record of excellence in tertiary-level teaching and curriculum development, along with a track record of research publications and success in securing research funding. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with industry and community partners, are essential. A qualification as an Accredited Practicing Dietician will be highly regarded.
