HV Protection Technician

Projectech Pty Ltd is an electrical commissioning and testing company working throughout Australia based in Osborne Park Perth. We provide HV, LV & E&I testing, commissioning and maintenance services to our clients in the Mining, Oil & Gas, Utilities and Renewable Energy sectors.

We have an immediate requirement for a High Voltage / Commissioning Technician to join our office in Perth on a permanent or casual basis. This role is predominately field based with travel required on a project-to-project basis. Successful candidates will need to demonstrate a high theoretical and practical knowledge of HV primary and secondary systems.

Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Commissioning and testing HV protections systems.

Commissioning and testing HV substations.

Commissioning and testing power generation systems.

Protection relay testing.

HV primary and secondary injection testing.

Assisting in the preparation of commissioning / testing documentation, test plans and creating detailed technical reports on completion of works.

Experience, skills and qualifications:

Must hold "A Grade" WA Electrical licence.

Familiar use of Omicron test equipment.

Comprehensive experience in relay testing, VT and CT testing.

Fundamental understanding HV protection schemes and the proven ability to test these schemes.

Minimum 3 years' experience preferred.

Knowledge of appropriate Australian and International Standards.

Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation
