About the Role:
Curtin University School of Nursing is inviting applications for a motivated and dynamic individual to join our team as a Senior Lecturer in the Paramedicine discipline. This is a part-time (0.8 FTE, with flexible 4 x workdays) permanent opportunity.
The role includes coordinating and teaching in the new Bachelor of Science (Paramedicine) course and taking on responsibilities as the Discipline Lead. Key duties involve coordinating the courses, leading accreditation, developing materials, designing curricula, and teaching and supervising students at various levels. You will facilitate diverse learning activities to enhance student engagement and outcomes, lead curriculum design, and implement innovative assessment practices to support student learning. You will manage and initiate external industry partnerships.
Additionally, you will supervise honours and postgraduate students while maintaining high standards in teaching and learning. Engaging in national professional development and fostering an inclusive learning environment based on student feedback is also essential.
Who we are looking for:
- Registered as a Paramedic with AHPRA registration (or eligible for).
- A doctoral qualification in relevant discipline (or equivalent accreditation and professional standing for Teaching Focused Clinical Professional role).
- Proven high level teaching skills with a demonstrated reflective approach to teaching and learning.
- A significant contribution to scholarship in teaching and learning with an emerging record of success in winning external grants to support teaching projects and initiatives.
- A strong understanding of pedagogical theory and contemporary educational practice relevant to the discipline.
- An emerging record of peer reviewed publications in high quality journals.
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and unit/course coordination.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to lead teaching and learning initiatives and provide mentoring to less experienced staff.
- Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to foster the development of a collegial and supportive working environment and the ability to interact with students and staff with cross cultural sensitivity.
- Demonstrated commitment to applying relevant and applicable policies, procedures and legislation in the day-to-day performance of the functions of this position.

- As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered.
