Senior Dental Nurse (Perth, WA)

Job Summary

The Senior Dental Nurse ensures WA Dental Act 2019 compliance, AHPRA standards, and Perth metropolitan health guidelines are met. This role oversees infection control, maintenance management, stock management, and leads a team of up to 10 dental nurses in a Perth-based practice.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership & Compliance

Ensure adherence to: WA Health Infection Control Guidelines

Conduct monthly sterilization audits

Supervise four-handed dentistry, emergency response (e.g., anaphylaxis per ARC guidelines), and patient consent processes

Roster shifts with Practice Manager guidance

Manage covers for lunches

Ensure mandatory training

Stock Control & Ordering

Manage inventory with suppliers

Ensure compliance with WA Waste Management Regulations (Sharps/ biohazard waste)

Order and track PPE and dental materials

Qualifications & Requirements

Cert IV in Dental Assisting (Preferred) can be omitted with experience

First Aid (HLTAID011) + Infection Control Certification + HHA

3+ years experince in Australia

Experience with software (D4W)

Knowledge of WA Health public dental system

Great awareness and have eyes on everything back office

Surgical knowledge is preferred but not essential (training can be provided)

Performance Metrics

100% compliance with WA Dental Board audits.

Stock turnover ratio ≤ 30 days.

Patient satisfaction ≥ 95%
