About the role

Basalt Studio is seeking an accomplished Interior Designer to join our dynamic team at our Sydney office.
At our studio, you will play a key role in shaping the aesthetic and functional design of a diverse range of retail, hospitality and urban revival projects. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work on exciting, high-profile projects and contribute to the continued growth and success of our prestigious studio.

This role is suitable for Junior Interior Designers or established Interior Designers respectively looking to step up from their current roles.

What you'll be doing

Work on ground-breaking, impactful and culturally important projects across Australia

Develop exciting and innovative concepts

Prepare detailed design plans, specifications, and documentation

Sourcr and selecting appropriate materials, furnishings, and fixtures

Oversee the implementation of design plans and coordinating with consultants and contractors

What we're looking for

Tertiary qualification in Interior Design/Interior Architecture

3-5 years of experience working as an Interior Designer in the retail and hospitality sector; Candidates of 2 years experience are still encouraged to apply and where successful, additional training and support will be provided by the Studio

Advanced proficiency in design software (e.g. SketchUp, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite)

Excellent problem-solving and project management abilities

Keen eye for detail and a passion for creating visually stunning, functional spaces

Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and sustainability best practices
