FinXL is seeking a Sydney based Platform Engineer for a 12-month contract deployed to work with a banking client on their backend services and APIs using Golang.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize high-performance Go (Golang) backend services and APIs.
• Simplify the development experience by creating intuitive APIs and providing essential, reusable services for rapid innovation.
• Seamlessly integrate services with infrastructure, ensure robust security, and provide expert support to maintain platform reliability.
• Lead API design and evolution and implement monitoring and logging for proactive issue resolution.

Skills and experience

• Proficient in Go (Golang) and proven ability to design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services and APIs.
• Extensive experience with DevOps practices, backend application development, and working in Agile environments with CI/CD tools.
• Skilled in designing comprehensive solutions with considerations for user experience, automation, security, performance, resilience, cost-to-serve, scale, and reusability.
• Strong background in backend engineering with a solid understanding of platform engineering principles.
• Proficient in strong API development, container-based platforms (Docker/Kubernetes), deploying images, and building scalable solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Go, Python, and cloud platforms like AWS and GCP. Familiarity with Unqork, Airflow, GitOps/ArgoCD, Vault, and Atlassian tools is highly regarded.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
