Our government client is seeking a hands-on AO6 Senior Project Accountant to join a team working on high profile projects across QLD!

Based in Brisbane, the successful candidate will join a tight-knit, supportive finance team known for their strong morale and collaborative approach.

How will you contribute?

You’ll assist in delivering the financial and analytical components of project service delivery. Engage with contract managers and business partners, interpret financial data and proposals, and make a real impact to QLDers.

Key Contributions:

• Provide timely, accurate, and meaningful financial analysis and reporting to support both internal teams and external collaborators.
• Review, process, and verify complex payment transactions for contracted service partners.
• Support financial modelling activities by supplying data insights and scenario inputs.
• Generate data-driven recommendations to support strategic decisions, especially those related to commercial arrangements and contract discussions.
• Contribute to finance-driven projects and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and compliance.

Skills & Experience Required

• Strong financial and management accounting background
• Experience with contracts (beneficial but not required) and interpreting financial statements
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication abilities

Technical Proficiency

• SAP (essential)
• Excel (strong working knowledge)
• SharePoint (essential)
• Power Query (desirable but not required)
