About the role

Rydges Bankstown is a 120 room, 4 star hotel located on the Hume Highway in Bass Hill. The property features a restaurant, bar, and conferencing facilities.

We are seeking a Full Time Handyman. You will coordinate an effective maintenance service to all departments. You will be tasked at ensuring the building and surrounds, plant, machinery, and equipment is maintained and operates at the most efficient and productive method possible. We are looking for a trustworthy, energetic individual who can work unsupervised with the support and guidance of our General Manager. Some key responsibilities of this hands on role are:

Maintenance of guest rooms and public areas, furnishings, fixtures and equipment

Fast and efficient service for departmental maintenance requests

Co-ordination of special projects with a view to minimizing guest inconvenience

Assist in providing an effective maintenance service to all departments. This includes hands-on work as well as delegating tasks to contractors

Identifying areas of improvement within the hotel and to carry out preventative maintenance plans that are put in place.

Respond to and carry out all inter departmental or guest requests concerning defects, repairs and / or general assistance.

Skills and Experience:

Any trade experience will be beneficial to this role; ideally PLUMBING

Experience working in the Maintenance Department within a hotel

Experience in property Maintenace.

An understanding of OH&S procedures and best practice.

Ability to problem solve.

Well organised and can manage time effectively.

Can work cohesively within a team environment.

Customer service experience.
