About the role

Carpet Place Floorworld is seeking an experienced Estimator/project co-ordinator to join our team in Townsville, QLD. This full-time role is responsible for providing accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring the financial viability and success of our operations.

What you'll be doing

Reviewing project plans, specifications, and other documentation to determine material and labor requirements

Preparing detailed cost estimates, including material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs

Collaborating with project managers and engineers to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimise project budgets

Maintaining a database of historical cost data and pricing information to improve the accuracy of future estimates

Presenting estimates to clients and stakeholders, answering questions and addressing concerns

Providing support to the sales team by assisting with bid preparation and proposal development

Staying up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and changes that may impact project costs

What we're looking for

Strong technical skills in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and other project documentation

Proficient in using estimating software and spreadsheet applications to develop accurate and detailed cost estimates

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify cost-saving opportunities

Effective communication and presentation skills to liaise with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team and meet deadlines

Familiarity with local construction regulations, building codes, and industry standards
