HarperLloyd Recruitment is a legal specialist recruitment firm working with private practice firms, and we are currently partnering with a highly respected national law firm in Brisbane to find a Legal Assistant to join their busy and collaborative Insurance team.

This role supports a litigation-based practice group and works closely with a Partner, Senior Associate, and two Solicitors on complex and high-volume insurance matters. You'll be part of a collegiate team with access to structured support and opportunities to grow your legal support career.

This opportunity is best suited to an experienced Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary with a solid background in litigation who is looking to build their career within a firm that values long-term staff development, wellbeing, and internal promotion.

The Role

Your duties will include:

• Administrative support to a Partner, Senior Associate, and two Solicitors
• Managing court and client deadlines in litigation matters
• Email and diary management, billing
• File and document management, drafting correspondence and preparing legal documentation
• Liaising with clients, counsel, and other stakeholders

About You

You will be someone with:

• At least 2 years of experience as a Legal Assistant or Secretary in litigation (Defendant Insurance experience highly regarded)
• Proficiency in using Outlook, iManage, and Elite 3E (desirable)
• Strong communication skills and a proactive, organised work style
• The ability to manage competing deadlines
• A team-player approach and desire to contribute to a positive team culture
