Position overview
Are you skilled at audit and investigations? Do you possess a keen eye for detail and an understanding of regulatory policy along with interpreting legislation and technical documentation? If so, we have an exciting opportunity to join the Meteorological Authority Office Team as a Meteorological Compliance Lead.
The Meteorological Authority Office resides in the Organisational Resilience Program and represents the Bureau as the designated Meteorological Authority for Australia and assists the Director of Meteorology in the approval of automatic weather observing systems for the purpose of civil aviation safety regulations.
The Meteorological Compliance Lead is an important and challenging role that jointly coordinates the aviation meteorological compliance activities for the Meteorological Authority Office. This includes the delivery of compliance activities including audits, issues management, and customer engagement. The successful candidate will apply a risk-based approach to the development of compliance audit priorities and provide strategic and operational guidance to ensure execution of all compliance activities.
Using excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills and an ability to communicate effectively, the Meteorological Compliance Lead will make decisions and provide customer education on compliance related matters. Working collaboratively with the other Meteorological Compliance Lead, they will ensure alignment between compliance, team and program activities using strong management, planning and strategic management skills. The Meteorological Compliance Lead will have a proven track record of engagement with a diverse range of stakeholders and demonstrate a strong commitment to leading by example and building a shared sense of purpose and direction in a cohesive and high performing team.
