Program Service delivery area Lismore, Casino, Kyogle, Ballina, Tweed Heads, Murwillumbah and Byron Bay
6-month fixed term contract up to end of December 2025, possible extension dependent on funding.

Ngunya Jarjum is currently looking for an Early Childhood Family Worker to facilitate and coordinate service delivery of Aboriginal Families as Teachers program funded by NSW Dept of Education. Aboriginal Families as Teachers is an exciting program focused on promoting the importance of Early Childhood Education and supports the developmental outcomes for our Jarjums.
The key objectives of the role include to:
Work in collaboration with community Early Education Services/Centres in the design of culturally immersed playgroup session plans for supported playgroup, and in home delivery across the LGA’s of Lismore, Casino, Kyogle, Ballina, Byron Bay, Tweed Heads and Murwillumbah
Promote and support formalised early childhood education learning for parents and caregivers
Work closely with key partner services and community networks maintaining positive interagency relationships.

You identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
Experience and qualification in Early Childhood Education, Minimum Cert III
Strong interpersonal and communication skills – especially with work engaging children in interactive play
Demonstrated time management and personal organisational skills.
Demonstrated ability to engage & work effectively with Jarjum’s and Families.
High level of computer literacy; sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
Current NSW driver’s license (provisional or higher)
Pre-employment probity checks will be conducted prior to any offer of employment including a National Criminal History Record Check with a satisfactory outcome
Two professional referee checks will be conducted including one with a recent supervisor.
It is a legislative requirement for all employees to hold an NSW Working with Children - Employee clearance.
Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010
Classification - Social and community services employee level 4 pay point 1, Annual salary $ 85,122.44. Plus superannuation at 11.5 % of ordinary time earnings (OTE). Not-for-profit Salary packaging available.
