We have partnered with a well-established national provider of legal services specialising in providing advice to clients on matters relating to personal injury, worker's compensation, motor vehicle accidents, public liability, and medical negligence. They also manage large class actions and have a business model that operates on "no win, no fee" basis this has proven to have a high success rate in settling compensation claims.
Due to business growth, we are now looking for an experienced Legal Secretary to join the team located in Melbourne. Ideally you have min 2-5 years' experience working as a Legal Secretary for a law firm specialising in compensation cases and understand how to support the legal team and their clients by using your proactive and organisation, skills. Key Responsibilities Include:
- Provide high-level administrative and secretarial support to solicitors
- Prepare and format legal documents, correspondence, and court forms
- Manage calendars, schedule appointments, and coordinate court dates
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files and records
- Liaise professionally with clients, insurers, medical providers, and other stakeholders
- Experience using a Dictaphone, file management, and general office duties
To Be Successful, You Will Have:
- At least 2-3 year of experience as a Legal Secretary working in ideally personal injury legal firm, where you have been proactively managing client files and dealing with external stakeholders
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology, court processes, and document preparation
- Proficiency in legal practice management software such as LEAP, Affinity, or similar systems
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- High attention to detail and a proactive, solution-oriented approach
- Confident and professional communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, solicitors, and stakeholders
