At Peter Mac we aim to continuously improve cancer care, research and education across all cancers and for all people affected by cancer: changing lives, breaking new ground. Everything we do is underpinned by our core values, Excellence, Compassion and Innovation. Welcoming people from a wide variety of different backgrounds and experiences is critical to fostering innovation, compassion and excellence, and providing the best possible cancer care for our patients.

About the team

Home to cutting-edge imaging technology and expert radiologists, the division delivers high-quality, patient-centred imaging services that support world-leading cancer care and research.

About the role

As a Medical Imaging Technologist at Peter Mac you'll deliver high-quality general and specialist medical imaging services within the Cancer Imaging Department, under the guidance of the modality supervisor. You'll work in a variety of specialities including CT, Angio, Fluoro, Theatre, Mobiles and General X-rays. Training, if you are not familiar with our equipment, will be provided in all these areas.

Key responsibilities will see you:

  • Work closely and collaboratively with our Nuclear Medicine/PET technicians
  • Keep abreast of new imaging procedures, techniques and technology

Our MIT's work a 9-day fortnight, with flexible shifts from 07:30 in the morning till 18:30 in the afternoon. The daily hours are 8.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday. You will be expected to help out in the on-call system, which has a Saturday morning shift from 08:30-1230, and on call from 18:30-07:30 overnight. On-call is usually low in call ins and can be swapped over amongst your colleagues.

This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to world-class cancer care by delivering advanced medical imaging in a progressive and dynamic environment, within award-winning facilities!

About you

You will be someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who is able to build strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

You'll bring with you:

  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Possession of a radiation use license
  • Extensive or special knowledge, experience and competence in any of the specialist modalities (CT, DSA, MRI, mammography, QA programs, PACS or RIS)

Our benefits

We offer a range of benefits which support our people both personally and professionally, including:

  • Up to $11,660 in salary packaging to increase your take home pay
  • Discounted health insurance and eye care
  • A comprehensive health and wellbeing program
  • Public transport options at our doorstep and end of trip facilities for cyclists
  • Onsite eateries and coffee shops and inviting rooftop garden spaces
  • Pathways for professional development and new career opportunities
