About the role

As an Underground Fitter at AVM Group, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of mining equipment in an underground mining environment. This full-time role is FIFO ex Perth, Western Australia, offering the opportunity to work on-site and develop your skills in a dynamic and challenging industry.

What you'll be doing

Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on a variety of underground mining equipment including but not limited to Atlas / Epiroc / Sandvik / Normet

Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues, and implement effective repair solutions

Ensure all equipment is maintained to the highest safety and operational standards

Collaborate with the wider maintenance team to optimise equipment performance and availability

Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance processes

What we're looking for

Formal trade qualifications Certificate 3 or equivalent with experience in an underground mining environment - essential

Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to diagnose and repair a range of equipment

Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills to identify and resolve issues

Commitment to safety and a demonstrated track record of working safely

Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively in a team

Willingness to work in a challenging underground mining environment
