About the Role
We're seeking eight Technical Authorisation Officers to join a government department based in Morwell, supporting the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing. You'll use your trade knowledge or technical aptitude to assess maintenance claims, liaise with contractors, and ensure works meet contractual and compliance standards.
This is a full-time, fixed-term contract with excellent conditions, a collaborative team environment, and the chance to make a real difference in the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and process maintenance claims for public housing and community buildings
- Liaise with contractors and provide technical guidance
- Support Housing Customer Service Officers with escalated queries
- Ensure compliance with government maintenance standards and procedures
About You
We're looking for candidates with either:
- A trade qualification or technical background (e.g. construction, property, maintenance), OR
- Strong call centre experience with the ability to interpret technical information and make confident decisions
You'll also bring:
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- A collaborative, team-first approach
Requirements
- National Police Check and pre-employment misconduct screening
- Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Two satisfactory reference checks from direct supervisors within the past 12 months
